I think as a youngster I can imagine preferring say Brighton, some might notice no one gets much of a look in outside the first XI at Arteta's Arsenal.

I like to read stuff like this (from the Independent above) because it'll be pretty shit if we squander our budget on one overpriced midfielder this summer.

Arteta and the club board are still intent on being highly strategic, and will not spend huge fees for the sake of it. Rice is a key target, but Arsenal may revive interest in Brighton's Moises Caicedo, with Bayer Leverkusen's Moussa Diaby and Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi among players they are also looking at.

Great result today but I hope we reduce our streakiness. Last year we lost 3 in a row at a crucial time and this season we drew 3 in a row at an equally important moment. Are we a confidence/momentum side?

Our winning runs are becoming longer and more consistent which is important.

Streakyness even we have accumulated 30 points out of a possible 39. We'd definitely take that from a 13 game run. Truth be told the only problem is that our dropped points, City aside, were avoidable, on top of City going on a mad 33 points out of 33 run. Their form just made ours look bad when in fact it was anything but.

What I like is that Arteta is learning how to deal with a title race in real time. Our game management today was much better than Liverpool and West Ham. He also took off Zinny at the right time unlike Liverpool away.

Avoid conceding before HT is huge of course as well.

It’s too little too late but really important we finish strong and bodes well for next season (learning from our mistakes).

I think we probably conceded too many goals. Some dropped points can happen but if you score 3 goals at home against a bottom of table team you should not be shipping 3 goals. Our dip in form might not have been so bad if we didn't concede so many goals.

I reckon looking back the big disappointment would be Southampton. That's the one where it almost felt like we were feeling sorry for ourselves for 70 odd mins.

goon I feel the West Ham & Southampton games were symptoms of the Liverpool game, therefore it's the most disappointng one for me. Said it before but I truly believe we'd have pissed both the following games had we beat Liverpool.

But I don't wanna be negative or dwell today. Boys did amazingly well and I'm proud.

I feel like he will learn from this experience. He was running scared and defaulted to the 'safe' picks when we might have benefited from Kiwior, Jorginho and Trossard playing more often during the run-in. I'm confident he will learn from this and hopefully if we find ourselves here again in 12 months, he's better prepared to trust this squad and take a few more chances.

Every fan and player hyping us and we do this. Doing what we did with the clock at Fulham away , cringe countdowns and then proceed the way we did with the last 8 games?

Sicario2 - Tier 1 I mean, I for one wasn't hyping us up. Not sure how many fans were outside of mainstream media.

And as mentioned in the match thread, really nothing to be ashamed of this season. We've far outperformed expectations; talk of bottling is one way to frame the last couple of months but I think it's lacking in a lot of nuance and does a disservice to all involved. That doesn't mean we couldn't have done certain things differently but even with those incremental gains, it was still a massive ask to dethrone Haaland (and City).

If we finished 2nd because City were too good I would have probably given it an 8.5/10 season.

But the way we crumbled it goes down to a 7/10 I think mate.

It’s not so much City being so good but we beat ourselves which is the most disappointing thing.

Only way to truly recover is be super cut throat with squad players and have a mega summer transfer wise. If we go into next season ‘1 or 2 players short’ like we normally do then expect more heartbreak next year.

Also, BIG pressure on Arteta next season. We must win silverware.
