We played so well in the first half hour made me more confident for our tough games left...but if City beat us then they will win the title 😆

tazmania looking at the fixture list if we win our next two games we could be 9 ahead of city, who will have two in hand but 9 points before we meet them is a good place to be (assuming they win their next which they should do with ease). They're still faves but we gotta give it everything

Haven't had my heart pound as much as the game today in so many years. I could hardly breathe at times. Not a bad result but gutting to drop 2 points at the death.

All things considered its a decent point. Beat Southampton, West Ham, Wolves, Brighton and Forest and we're up to 88 points. Get a win against Chelsea or Newcastle and we are on 91. Beat both and we're on 94 which is the maximum City can get if they win all their games including against us.

Think we're still ok. City will drop more points between now and season end probably so we just need to make sure we win the first 5 at a minimum and then get as many points as we can out of Newcastle and Chelsea.

Really was. Amazing from him. Really kept us in the game. Brilliant effort.

The game was way too frantic for my heart to bear. We lost composure in the second half and I reckon taking off Ode was a mistake. Kiwior wasn't needed and if anything confused the shape of our defence slightly, and you could see Zin flagging a few times. Thought he was getting ready to be subbed off when Trossard was coming on but Tierney sat back down.
Oh well, tough result to take but given the circumstances, not too bad. We have enough to get over the line if we refocus and make sure we get maximum points from those 5 fixtures I mentioned. Chelsea and Newcastle games really should be wins as well if we're worth our salt, particularly Chelsea. We do that and I doubt City can win it even if they beat us.

Just need to keep our heads and see this as a point gained rather than 2 dropped. If we can get any kind of result against City then that will be a huge blow for them.

Watching that Martinelli misplaced pass, I think he wasn't as far off getting it right as it originally looked. Alisson comes out very quickly (as you'd expect) but there isn't much in it between him and Saka.

The main mistake is (broken record alert) probably holding on to the ball for so long. If he passes earlier, there's greater margin for error.

Still not entirely sure how I feel about that.. totally dominant most of the 1st half but we're probably lucky to come away with a draw, even though we could have won it in the end...

Still so much to play for though... City looking ruthless right now but still so much can change.. wouldn't be surprised if both city and us drop points in multiple games.. Might need to get a result at the Etihad now..

the extra centreabck will relieve the fullbacks from covering Pool’s dangerous wingers.
only issue is both Saliba and Tomi are out. So Kiwior was it. Tomi would’ve been perfect for that sub

Claudius Arteta had the right idea and this time next season it may a good tactic but throwing on a young(ish) player for his 2nd league appearance at Anfield during a title run isn’t great man management

It was a bad sub because he took Odegaard off and ceded the midfield, isolating our forwards.

He also brought on a player that hasn't played much and looks shaky every time he does play. If we wanted to go 5 at the back Tierney would have been better from his options on the bench. I think only reason he put Kiwior on was for added height on set pieces.

I've thought about it and a draw at Anfield isn't the worst thing.

What's unfortunate is a lot of the other dropped points are due to some ridiculous VAR/Reffing-

Utd 3-1
Southampton 2-2
Newcastle 0-0
And of course Brentford

Everton away we deserved and got nothing.

City at home we missed our best player and made individual mistakes.

Tactics

I think Arteta had concerns about the height advantage Liverpool had over us after bringing on Nunez and Firmino. They pinned us back and were finding easy to put crosses in. It was a poor sub but understandable

It's not a bad result but letting a 2 goal lead slip hurts. It will rankle but I hope the players get over it quickly.

Arteta has brought on Holding time and again. It's not the first time he has employed the tactic. It's the personnel and the circumstance.

Rohit usually in the last five minutes though. Now we conceded the midfield 15 mins before the end.

Holding albeit w/out quality is one thing but Kiwior who has barely had a sniff of the first team being fed to the lion's is another.

Jorginho with his street smarts wouldve' been much better.
