Well it would probably be out of our hands at that point. The truth of the matter is this: we are ahead of schedule, and while that's great, we aren't the finished article. Maybe 70-80% is where I'd put us at. Our structure, mentality and coaching in general is up there with the very best. We need an injection of quality in a few critical places to put us up to the 90% level with which would come the consistency and ability to go to places like Anfield and maybe even Etihad and come away with a strong win.
The positives for me is that our management team recognizes this as well as evidenced by our targets and rumored links for transfers. It's why I have said previously that although it might be very disappointing not to win the league, it's important to understand and acknowledge that it might not yet truly be our time. We have a few steps yet to go to get to the summit, but the path is clear. And we are headed in the right direction.
