RowJimmy My point is that our position is based on how well we're playing on not on the seasons that others are having. There will be a similar spread of opponents next year, and the year after that.
I don't think this is a given. The way the Premier League works, it's quite possible for a greater number of its clubs to start to be mega-rich, well administered, and recruit good managers who enjoy greater longevity.
It's been a luxury of the past few seasons that cashed up United and Chelsea have been in a relative shambles, and now we have Newcastle on the scene looking organised.
To look at it from another club's perspective, this time a couple of years ago Arsenal was firmly in its banter era. Everyone wanted Arteta sacked, if they didn't want him dead. Now we've got a solid first XI, we're well coached and we've got more points than City. Are we going to return to mean for Arsenal over the last 20 years? I hope not. But there's no magic here. Other clubs can and will do what we've done and they plan to do so.
