We were shite until Ødegaard came on. Arteta's got a big job to rally the troops ahead of Sunday, but that's what he's paid for. And at least we can say "concentrate on the league" without any sense of irony.

Good thing The Smith will be fully rested and ready to take Vieira's place in the matchday squad on Sunday.

I felt like Nelson was poor but so was Saka when he came on. Then Ode came in and suddenly Saka and Trossard started to play. Vieira is miles off at the moment.

Qwiss everything goes through Partey and Odegaard in this team. They are irreplaceable

Those 1st half injuries messed us up, part of the reason Arteta was reluctant to bring on Odegaard earlier as we had used up almost all our subs. Too bad 'cos we looked much better with Partey and Ode on the pitch.

Clrnc these are elite players. And it’s funny watching their respective styles. Partey is super smooth and relaxed. Almost like it’s all in bullet time. Odegaard plays with a more frenetic energy. What is common though is they both see the game evolving half a second faster than everyone else.

Anyway don't understand people who say they are glad we are out. If we played with a fringe team yeah no biggie but we played with first team and got knocked out. Double whammy. Should always be winning this

Clrnc Of course there is disappointment. Grand scheme of things, I think PL is still the one to win. I believe there will be an impact of this on our league immediately but the way the team was able to dust themselves up during this season, I am hoping for a repeat of that kind of behavior. Lets see. It will be scrappy against palace. I hope we edge it and slowly build the momentum going into the last part of the season

Don't wish to dwell on this too long for my health but what was everyone up to in training this week. Trying to be unnucessarily crafty with flicks, lobs, feints, nutmegs straight through a stolid defender. Largely it was only Martinelli that was orthodox and playing the odds with his attacking play.

On one hand, it sucks and the performance was dreadful. On the other hand, we can focus on the main prize. Fixtures were going to pile up so this is one less thing to worry about.

Might not be a disaster in the long run. Drop points on Sunday cause of it though and it’s less than ideal.

This saves us a match between Liverpool and West Ham where the first leg would have been.

The second leg is the day we are scheduled to play Southampton, so so no immediate break, but means that Southampton is the hardest possible match we can have immediately before we play City 3 days later.
