Don't wish to dwell on this too long for my health but what was everyone up to in training this week. Trying to be unnucessarily crafty with flicks, lobs, feints, nutmegs straight through a stolid defender. Largely it was only Martinelli that was orthodox and playing the odds with his attacking play.

On one hand, it sucks and the performance was dreadful. On the other hand, we can focus on the main prize. Fixtures were going to pile up so this is one less thing to worry about.

Hopefully the injuries and morale hit don't hit us now

Might not be a disaster in the long run. Drop points on Sunday cause of it though and it’s less than ideal.

This saves us a match between Liverpool and West Ham where the first leg would have been.

The second leg is the day we are scheduled to play Southampton, so so no immediate break, but means that Southampton is the hardest possible match we can have immediately before we play City 3 days later.

Clrnc these are elite players. And it’s funny watching their respective styles. Partey is super smooth and relaxed. Almost like it’s all in bullet time. Odegaard plays with a more frenetic energy. What is common though is they both see the game evolving half a second faster than everyone else.

ramsdale could have easily made up for getting lobbed like that and then he goes and shits the bed in a pen shootout.

Bit worried about us in the Champions League next year given how poor we've looked in Europe the last couple of years.

Qwiss need to add two or three to give us true strength in depth. We’ll be ok

Qwiss not worried at all.
By the time we get to the summer, we will move Tierney, Holding and an Nketiah type out.
We will bring in something like Fresneda, Ndicka, Caicedo and Rice.
The team will have depth, particularly in midfield where we are flat without our supremos.

Claudius Eddie and Tierney didn't play tonight. We'd probably have been better than we were if those 2 had played.

Claudius not particularly about that. But more of this pepball tactic. It hasn't worked in Europe for a long time and has never worked for him without Messi too. There's a reason why they kept going out despite having the best players and biggest depth

Clrnc Of course there is disappointment. Grand scheme of things, I think PL is still the one to win. I believe there will be an impact of this on our league immediately but the way the team was able to dust themselves up during this season, I am hoping for a repeat of that kind of behavior. Lets see. It will be scrappy against palace. I hope we edge it and slowly build the momentum going into the last part of the season

mohan City beat us and we won 5 in a row. The only things that will stop us here would be injustice and fatigue

Qwiss I know. But they and Holding are surplus to requirements. And can raise enough money to get us most of Rice.

Claudius not convinced he's a big improvement and he won't be coming to play back up anyway

Clrnc The way Arteta was able to learn and improve, I am sure we will evolve. It will be painful for the first few seasons in CL.

Same but not because we lost. We deserved to lose over 2 legs. But rather because we failed to rotate properly over the entire tie and still lost.

Didn't realise we had so many go at this now. Most of the other big English clubs who fell into this won it within 1 or 2 years and went back into UCL ffs. We really have zero European pedigree

And all to teams that we shouldn't be losing too
