Claudius they tried to get trossard on the cheap, but he would've probably gotten hunkered down in the morass of conte-ball. this is the type of season-defining signing we have a long history of NOT making.
Was hoping Nketiah and Martinelli would switch in-game back in February but don't think they tried it once; Trossard and Martinelli have doing it to amazing effect. Good, fluid interchanging.
KingslandBarge Given Martinelli was pretty good at picking up on Jesus's signals as well, you'd have to assume it's either strict coaching when Nketiah plays, or (perhaps less likely?) Eddie's too limited.
KingslandBarge Nketiah can’t do what you’re asking. He is a box striker, and incredible at that. But he doesn’t go to the wing to create. It’s just not his style. His lack of movement is what clogged up our offense. It was so plainly evident.
Literally how lucky are we we signed Trossard instead of Mudryk at this point.

Also, left footed ball out by Saliba to switch play. The kid is on another level. Our defensive recruiting has been phenomenal

We've been great but Robinson has been shite , thought he was highly rated . Perhaps another Trent type fullback. I like that both their fullbacks haven't pushed forward much because they are so worried about Saka / Trossard / Martinelli
Tactics The second goal as well watching it back you can clearly see our 5 in their zones (left, inside left, centre, inside right, right) against the Fulham 4.
Claudius I would say Martinelli is better at Box striker.
You can't be a FITB and miss that amount of chances against United City and Villa

KingslandBarge there’s just no evidence. Trossard and Martinelli have more passes between them each game than Martinelli and Nketiah had between them the whole time Nketiah started as striker.
It was during this period fans started getting frustrated with Mattinelli. And there was nothing wrong with him. He was just disconnected from the team

Great movement . Having him and Jesus able to play that role at a top level is massive for us.. team looks way better setup that way
Nketiah is a striker who has trained all his life to attack the box, find space and score goals.
There's absolutely no reason for him to drift out wide or switch positions. It's not his game or his style.
