I was actually taken aback (but pleased) when Arteta brought him on. ESR wasn't having much impact anyway and there wasn't much else on the bench but putting that faith in Nelson at such a huge moment was the sort of belief in Nelson that Arteta hasn't shown in him up until the last few times he's been available.

He's mentioned a few times that his mentality has been different this year and you can see it on the pitch. He's technically very, very good and it looks like it's randomly clicked for him when it comes to using it at senior football.

Ricky1985 you’ve been there since day one Tricky. Admittedly I wasn’t a fan until this year he didn’t have the presence he now seems to have. Lovely to see him come on. I dare say Arteta is having a big impact on his game - the positions he now takes up, and the way he controls the ball are making him Uber dangerous

If he doesn’t stay with us, and I sure hope he does, he’ll go on to have an excellent career somewhere

I did love him as a kid - technique like his doesn't come along very often - but I thought he was done here. He just didn't seem to get it.

I couldn't agree more about Arteta's impact on him. He was crying out for discipline, structure, real coaching, someone to show him how hard he had to push himself if he wanted to make it - Arteta is probably the best coach around for that right now.

It would great to see him on really kick on now. He can become a really good player for us.

I think he admitted it himself that he wasn't working hard enough through his development years. To recognise that at his age and then work to change your attitude is very commendable and shows that he has matured.

With his technique and profile he can really reach high levels and I hope he does and I hope it's with us.

Think he’s also one of those players that gets influenced by other players. Has the haircut of the moment and would wear his socks in line with the latest trends. He’s currently resembling Jesus in many ways

Having him also allows us hopefully to rotate Saka a bit as well. Always enjoy seeing home grown players do well, it doesn't feel like he will stay but lets hope the next few months he can have an impact. Just before his injury as well he looked really sharp.

Said it after his performances earlier this season, he looks like a much improved player. Much more determined and makes decisions quicker. Where he used to hesitate and try nonsense flashy tricks, he now decides early to either keep the ball moving or go straight at the defender. Yesterday, he was able to get a yard on the defender every time he wanted to. Even better than Saka..

Main thing is technique. You can see that he can hang.

Not sure if this was mentioned but Reiss is right footed. To take a high pressure ball in the 97th minute on your left, set it up and strike it with that weaker foot so sweetly in dense traffic, is excellent.

Claudius it's such a lovely strike. The spin on the ball after he controlled it also made it quite tricky and it could have easily gone way off target. But he fucking nailed it.

I agree, his weaker foot crossing is better than Saka because he can beat his man always on the outside too. Pretty cool.
