Gabi (estimated market value €80m, 36 matches, 15 goals, 5 assists, 2,805 minutes in the league least season) has gotta be wondering what he's gotta do to get someone to buy him a beer around here.
I'm one of those who want to see ESR get more minutes but not at the expense of Martinelli and Saka who are undisputed first choice. There was a time when they were on a similar level but over the last year or two the latter two have kicked it up several levels whilst ESR struggled with injury. In any case, I would have wanted to see ESR play with those two as a number 8, not taking their spot in the forward line.
Martinelli for me probably has the highest superstar potential out of the 3, even more so than Saka, but ESR is not that far off, at least in terms of potential. If he can have an injury free season, and get regular minutes off the bench or in the second team when we play in the cups, then I can see him showing people why we were all so excited by him in the past. Of course if his injury problems remain then it's all moot.
