I contest that we were flat. We are going to have a lot of games like this the next three months. Teams sitting back absorbing pressure. A team with 80% possession, 90% field tilt and 30 shots isn’t flat.
What is clear is that at less than 10% xG per shot, we struggled to create good shots. They were in two banks in front of goal, and we tried to draw them out with long distance shots, mainly by Odegaard (who took the 4th highest shots in premier league history). We will keep facing this. Fortunately, Bournemouth aren’t Brentford or Newcastle. They can leak 3 goals.
