samthegooner My concern is that he is very inconsistent and some of that looks like its related to his effort and intensity levels. He definitely has the same type of body language as Ozil where he looks disinterested half the time and it's always tough to tell if that's something to read too much into or not.

Word is that despite his talent he's not easy to coach. Same story everywhere he's went apparently. Has a bad rep from his time with us as a youth too. Can't see Arteta going for him.

Yeah the attitude concerns make me think that Arteta isn't really seriously looking at him. He's a serious talent but I think there are a few others that are just as talented without the headaches. I still would love to see Diaby here.

Apparently so. Can’t see them triggering it though, but for a playing perspective anyway, but maybe to sell on for profit if that’s possible.

There’s several alternatives to Caicedo who I feel are just as good if not better. Musah an example

Sicario2 - Tier 1

I watched Caideo properly for the first time today. I wouldn’t have given him MOM but it was a sold 7/10 performance. He seems to have good positioning, is strong tackler but gave away some really sloppy balls at times when he was under pressure. He still seems a bit raw but the upside/potential is clear to see.

He is definitely not worth £100m though even if it’s an inflated market. Do we go for the cheaper option in Rice? Rice is a leader and has the soft skills we’re looking for but Cacideo higher ceiling.

I don't think those two players are the same. For me Rice would thrive more in Xhaka's position and Caicedo in Partey's role.

I thought Caicedo did ok under pressure, his passing isn't elite but his ball winning most certainly is.

I think they're both very similar actually. Both very nippy, both high in tackling stats, both make a similar number of passes, touches etc. I think they can both play either role, but I'd trust Rice more with the responsibility playing the 6 role.

Interestingly, they're both top 10 in the league for tackles. Partey is 15th. Xhaka is no. 148 (8th at Arsenal). Easy to see where we can really step things up next season when it comes to suffocating teams, high turnovers etc.
