Enzo is so incredibly talented. The most amazing thing for me is the recent fervour for young talent and the associated fees. Think back 5 years, and £20m for a 21 year old was an incredible outlay. Hence why I said the Saliba deal at the time was expensive - looks cheap with the way the market has evolved now.

So I think a few things happening

Really? He can win a tackle and ping a long pass but there's not much in that video of him receiving the ball under pressure in his own half.

Claudius Enzo is so incredibly talented.

Is he? Maybe, but you've got to put talent to work. I'd genuinely prefer Caicedo from the little I know about each kid, but I obviously could be misjudging them.

Let's be honest it's mostly just Chelsea screwing about with their desperation to cram their entire project into a single January transfer window. They had their Willian and Luiz phase in the summer by signing a bunch of 30 yr olds and now looked at us and decided to switch strategy 4 months later.

If you look at our best players 24 or under you have Eddie, Vieira, Kiwior, ESR, Martinelli, Saliba, Saka, Ode, Tomi and Ramsdale all for under £150m. Caicedo is more about needs must, he's a player we need right now.

goon I don't really care about overspending by £10m if he fits the long term plan. But the question isn't can we get better value in 6 months, it's can we get a better player.

This is the only question as far as I'm concerned.

If Brighton pushes it too much we should just active Enzo release clause I agree.

Clrnc yea, he's good, but it's hard for me to judge considering the level of opposition. I think it's an even bigger gamble.

I really shouldn't have compared them at all, different players and they'd probably play together brilliantly.

Clrnc Also a very different type of player to Caicedo. Enzo is more a pure DM whereas Caicedo seems more a hybrid DM/CM and can play either role.

JazzG Not really. I know he played as a DLP at River but since at Benfica he is mostly b2b and at the world cup he even played in advanced midfield position.

Very tenacious and yet creative. He's a versatile guy who can do it all. I'd say he's very similar to MacAllister but better.
