He definitely wants out, that's is why he probably changed agents to get this done.
Down to agreeing a deal with Brighton, as we have seen in the past they are very firm on their valuation of players.
Clrnc I don't think we'll be messing with the first XI this season as long as it's working as well as it is right now. He'll be very reliable backup/sub for two positions as well as an EL starter.
Edit: If we get him, which we won't.
QuincyAbeyie Stranger things has happened, but I mean in the form of his quality he is definitely good enough to be a starter. I agree we shouldn't change a settled squad though.
A bit like when we signed Reyes in 03/04 for our title push. He clearly is a starter quality but had to bide his time.
Apparently he's only on 3.5k a week?
Can't imagine wages being an issue in that case.
goon did you mean 35k? I'd be forcing my way out too if I was in the epl on 3.5k
Would be an incredible signing that more or less would cement the league title.
I am just loving intent from the club. He has looked a top player from the moment he joined Brighton. It will be a fantastic signing.
Rohit Yeah, we are backed now. Wonder why did the Kroenkes change like this.
HomeSteak TBF we have been backed from the very beginning of Arteta tenure. The wallet has been free flow.
Caicedo is 21 years old btw. Huge future ahead of him. 75m just about right considering Tchouameni and co also went for that and the market has inflated since then
HomeSteak They showed faith in the manager and that faith being repaid on and off the pitch.
Gazza M I've seen 3,5 mentioned elsewhere. Seems ridiculously low, although he did come from the Equadorian league and his rise to his current stature has been meteoric.
one could look at this as rectification for missing out on kante. this kid is almost a kante regen, it would be a bummer if he also went to chelsea
How does he compare to Tchouameni? He moved for 70 didn't he?
Pepe LeFrits 100m euros.

Anyway FWIW
bit OTT. 60m is more than reasonable as a first offer
I guess that stance is because they immediately rejected Chelsea's 50m bid a few days ago.
If by 'good for all parties', he means Brighton got more than they deserved, then I agree...
Think £60m is very reasonable.
Don Pacifico I have a feeling that 'reasonable' from your perspective isn't the same reasonable as if a club was trying to buy our best player and talent (Saka?) today.
60m is a good opening because then we can go back and get him for 75m. Brighton look like tough negotiators and we get the player. Open with 75m and you risk them asking for 80m.
Stupidly low? What's this guy smoking?
£60m fixed fee for someone they signed for 5m two years ago is a serious bid. And as someone on twitter pointed out, we certainly didn't start at £50m for White, had two bids rejected before we got there.
