The 22-year-old is a centre-back by trade, but can also play at left-back or in defensive midfield, giving Mikel Arteta options in several different positions.
With heavy competition from Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and Ben White in central defence, Kiwior faces a big task to break into the Gunners’ best XI.
But a hidden message in their talks with the Arsenal hierarchy gave the Poland international a hint as to where he would fit in Arteta’s plans.
Speaking to Polish outlet Kanal Sportowy, Kiwior’s agent, Pawel Zimonczyk said: “The plan is clear. When I went to London Colney, there was a tactical board where the players in each position, 1, 2, 3 are listed.
“There was an empty space under Gabriel, I don’t know if it was a tactical play to get us a little bit.
“His role will be to compete with Gabriel but Kuba [Kiwior] has the versatility to play in other positions.”
