Sicario2 we've got a better chance of finishing one up from second with Saka fit and firing, right? Or am I wrong?

As for Arteta, it's very clear to me we'd have won this league already with one of Odegaard, Havertz and Saka fit and healthy for any length of time this season. He's not really had any of them, Merino's missed nearly half the season. No I don't want Arteta to go at the end of this season, however it finishes.

There's my empathy.

This has been debated to death but isn’t mainly Arteta’s fault these players are injured? He played Saka v Mansfield Town and Port Vale ffs

The rise or fall of this project is down to Arteta. Excuses are so 2025. Let’s see what happens in the next 6 weeks.

I'm well aware of what I've previously said, but I've changed my mind based on the evidence available to me over the last few weeks. And I don't think sacking a manager for finishing second is something a rational football club does. I get there'll be loads of people here calling for it, I'm not gonna argue with you, I understand why you might feel change is necessary but we are literally talking about a season where we might win both Premier League and Champions League - and that the manager be sacked if we don't manage it!

I think we've missed Odegaard's ability to connect all parts of the pitch and that Eze, as you mentioned him, got injured just as it was really clicking for him.

If you've read the Gyokeres thread this evening, you should know what my opinion of the Swede is. Yes, Kai Havertz is a better footballer than Gyokeres - more than that, he is a better fit for our football.

That Arteta is so close to glory despite the Madueke Gyokeres Martinelli front line he's had to roll out of late should be appreciated for the triumph of coaching it is. And you're talking about sacking him. Man's a genius.

By the way, I think it's been pretty well established Andrea Berta was the driving force behind the Gyokeres signing.

You might be right about Arteta - I said last night I know a lot of you here think he should go at the end of this season. As a sentient human being capable of independent thought, I don't agree, but I respect all opposing viewpoints. You seem incapable of doing so.

Just a reminder of where we started this was you calling Bukayo Saka a loser. He took a massively important penalty for his country as a 19 year old.

First, I dont think he gives a damn if you 'dont trust him'. Lol. Second, Saka's been injured for half the season (and clearly not 100%), so I am not that down on him. Also, like RtC said, he has stood up time and again, giving it a go in big moments for club and country (whether he succeeded or not) and thats what non-losers do. They stand up, time and again. And you know what happens, they eventually get it right. Lets hope this is the season it happens. We're in the final stretch, and he's back in the squad, and he has a chance to write his name into Arsenal lore.

Calma my friend, I dunno why this is so important to you in the first place. You of all people should understand people change their minds the way you flip flop between anger and full belief on a weekly basis because some tweet you've read about makes you feel a certain way.

People change their minds regularly. Sometimes through logical thought, sometimes emotions make them make decisions in the heat of the moment. It happens. I have been on the complete opposite side of the spectrum to RtC, Claude and a couple others when it comes to Arteta and wanting him out. Even I'm sometimes less ArtetaOut and even backing him when results and more importantly performances and the football on show are much better than they are now.

It's normal that people's feelings to the manager change based on logical thought if you can or can't see progress over the long term, or on emotion if you are swayed by a string of great or poor performances and ignore the longer term trend. Most people are swayed by their logic and even the most logical of us is swayed by emotions at times. You of all people should understand that.

When RtC wrote he wanted out, I'm fairly certain it was an emotional reaction after some of the shit performances against Bournemouth, Southampton, City Cup final totted up taking their toll but once he's sat down and reflected he realised that it was just that, an emotional reaction (which is natural, football is an emotional sport to follow especially when you support Arsenal over the last 20-30 years and beyond.

Look I get emotions but do you have a consistent standard or just reacting week to week?

Overall view of the manager should come from long-term assessment not short-term swings.

My view is simple and consistent with the opening post of the Arteta thread, judge him at the end of the season based on clear objectives - progress, performance but more importantly results ie trophies. Until then flipping every week doesn’t make sense.
