Clrnc are you watching them now? 😬
Burnwinter I was thinking the same but that Fulham away game is going to be tough. They are decent and yesterday they sat and defended all game and caught Brighton on the break. They'll try that with us too. Palace are very physical, which seems to be our Achilles heel lately so we need to sort out that side of things before we face them. They will be without their new star mid though so that helps.
We have Everton at home our game in hand in between Leicester and Bournemouth too.
4 home games and 2 away in the next 6. We must take advantage and win the home 1s. If we can beat Leicester next week and start to build momentum again then I don't really care what anyone else is doing as it won't matter.
There are some pseudo-tough matches in this busted flush, but nothing's Newcastle at St James' or City. We should be winning all of these, acknowledging Fulham etc are hardly pushovers. Yeah it's true they are well organised currently but ... fuck it. We should just roll them, one match at a time.
Our next 6 (inc. game in hand) vs City's next 5.
Leicester (A) - Bournemouth (A) Everton (H) Bournemouth (H) - Newcastle (H) Fulham (A) - Palace (A) Palace (H) - West Ham (H) Leeds (H) - Liverpool (H)
At the very least we should be 5 clear at the end of this, but there's definitely room for more with an FA Cup and two CL games squeezed in between each for them.
goon Still annoyed by Olise. Should have been 7 clear by now,
Next 2 should be doable. Would be amazing if we gotten perfect score from these.
2/3 of the season gone now. Only 13 games left to go
First to 60. Hopefully the games in March will resemble tonight's contest. I wonder if we're just 8 more wins (w/ some change) away.
City drop points again and I'll begin to believe it's in the bag.
I won't truly believe unless we build something crazy like a 15+ point lead. until then, both manc bastard clubs are still well in it
Gazza M
Yup, only recently we saw how quickly a lead can evaporate. Title races vary rarely become safe unless you get a crazy lead like when Liverpool won it.
That being said, if we can power through and win the next 4 it puts a lot of pressure on City to keep up with Newcastle, Palace, West Ham and Liverpool on the agenda for them.
It's squeaky bum time now, but when there's just 10 to go my chair will have lost all its paint.
Lof of football still to play.
We have Liverpool, West Ham, City, and Newcastle away still left to play.
We will drop points at some point again but evidence suggests, so will City.
I am Arsenal Till I Die I going to Pool and West Ham away.
Hope it will be fun
goon Toon should at least be desperate for points, as they've never been in worse straits this season, Guimaraes is back but being unsettled by Madrid, etc etc.
Hoping Liverpool beat United at Anfield this weekend which, providing we win at home to Bournemouth, take them out of the equation
Clrnc that's amazing! How did you manage tickets to an away game? 😮
This is a fantasy football schedule but the double game weeks are interesting. Shows our run in is decently spread out where as City have some double weeks and thats before you add in the Champions League.
Qwiss
If this is correct, means we will likely go to the game at the Etihad having played 2 games more. If we can at least match City's results until then, we could in theory go into that game 11 points ahead...
Win our next game and we've matched last season's total with 10 games to spare. Crazy jump.
I am Arsenal Till I Die I bought from 2nd hand websites for the Liverpool match. Think will be worth it for a once in a lifetime away end experience.
For WHU match, I have to camouflage myself into the home crowd since I bought it from the official WHU website 😉
EDIT: Scratch that, the 2nd hand seller bailed and refunded me, bought from Liverpool.com instead just right above the away fans. Undercover mission starts
Next two games are winnable and if we win both it would give us an 8 point lead in two weeks time (assuming City win their next game) as it will be FA Cup in two weeks, 8 points at this stage of the season would be a massive psychological boost for us.
IBL Fulham away is going to be tough, especially after Thursday EL game.
If you look back through the season you'll see all the big sides have struggled against Fulham, home and away. One of those games where we really need a cleansheet.
IBL need to win next week to go 8 points clear with a game more played. Hopefully City's busy schedule will impact their league results.
The video of those first 11 seconds against Bournemouth ought to be a good motivator whenever the upcoming opposition seems mediocre.
Burnwinter the first Bournemouth goal feels like a freak.
The second one maybe worth discussing. We have had a long record of not conceding on set pieces. Now teams are suddenly scoring near post. We need to assess if there is a weakness in our defensive set up that opponents have read
