Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert It all hinges on whether Zinchenko will come back into the side. If so, Gabriel will come back to his usual position, but would we then bench Partey or Havertz?

Yeah I think when Zinchenko comes back you have to play Gabriel but who knows what Arteta will do. I think if Zinchenko came back and we went to last seasons back 4 with Partey and Rice in front of them we'd be incredible in both directions. We'd be insanely solid and have loads of good progressive passing in the team.

I think theres a good argument that we'd have the best back 4 and best midfield 3 in the league with that team.

I expect us to play something like that in big away games, especially in CL. I think the formation we've seen last two games is for attacking low blocks in PL (and some home games in CL group stage probably).

Another decent move for him. Some of his Coventry highlights I saw were scintillating, he's very quick on the ball.

I'd like to think we'd recall him if Tomiyasu went down injured again but ... I somehow bet we'd make some crazy January signing instead.

Curious to see what the fee is for Balogun . My guess would be closer to (and potentially less than) £40m than £50m unless Monaco have had a new cash injection I'm not aware of.

Hopefully, we've attached a sizeable sell-on clause.

Reckon it's lower without a sell-on. Seems like we've been playing hardball this summer but our bluffs are being called across the board and now we're scrambling.

Others have been low-balling and we've just stood firm on our valuations. Even the Saudi bids for Partey were laughable. There is multiple interest reportedly for Tavares, Lokonga and Balogun, and standing firm seems like the right thing to do.
Depending on what you choose to believe, other clubs are in similar circumstances for some players too: Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly, Scott Mctominay, Lewis Hall, Lukaku, CHO, Conor Gallagher, Davidson Sanchez, Sergio Reguilón, Tanguy Ndombele, Lo Celso etc.
There are some big albatross in there.

Very annoying we won't get a fee for him. I get he needs to play, and I also understand why that won't happen here despite being a good player, but the lack of interest is baffling.

Newcastle really missed a trick not signing him this summer. They should have given us the £40m they gave Chelsea for Lewis Hall and everyone would have been happy.

Blah we short in defence again. Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, Gabriel, Kiwior, White and Saliba is not enough when 2 of them are unreliable in terms of availability.

Agree with this. We are short and can’t rely on injury prone defenders.

Every year we are one position short of a great team. Last season was central midfield and now it’s defence.

I guess Partey is considered part of that group now. Still leaves us short considering how brittle Tomiyasu and Zinchenko are
