I don't think it's quite as clear cut as Jorginho or Partey. But in any case for footballing and fitness reasons there has to be a plan to transition Partey out in the next couple of years, and if that's the case why not just do it now while we can?

FEBravo thats why you buy both of Ricedo, get the 3 of them rotating and actually manage players fitness.

JazzG as I say above I think he needs more fitness management. He was broken half the previous season and we pushed him pretty hard this season. He's still an excellent player if managed properly.

QuincyAbeyie Oh yeah absolutely. I didn't comment on him because I don't, and don't think Arteta would, see him as an integral part of the team or something which we'd be looking to build around. Partey on the other hand is fundamental to the way we play.

The big hope for me going into this season is that we become less reliant on individuals within the team and more capable of absorbing their absences.

Qwiss True would be ideal to keep him but I wonder if there is more going on here. His fitness is an issue but there is also his legal issues but whether he'd want to stay as backup if we sign two players. He's just turned 30 so the club might see this as a chance to recover some money.

As poor as he was in the run in he was as important as any other player prior to that.

I'd be ok to see Xhaka and Partey go and keep Jorginho for another year - it's not a huge expense anyway. Bring in Rice and 2 others (my faves as usual are Thuram, Merino, Llorente, Caqueret, Anguissa). Jorginho will be on his way out in 12 months.

Based on all reports you have online, Partey makes about 100.000+ per week more then the highest earner at Juve and around 200.000+ more then the higest paid AC Milan player. And they have to pay a transfer fee? He ain't going to any team in Italy.
Also, Rice-Caicedo-Jorginho ain't title winning material. Rice,Caicedo, Partey, Jorginho is. Hell, I would get rid of Elneny and Jorginho and keep Xhaka. Then we are balling out.

I've been saying he's on artetas shit-list to a greater degree than people would like to believe. as a veteran, his form down the stretch was problematic to say the least, and i have been saying i think there will be consequences to his standing in the pecking order. then theres the off-field stuff. I'll be a bit disappointed if rice ends up being our 6. not convinced he's better than partey in that position

xhaka and partey leaving in the same window would give us alot of work to do. 1 step forward, 2 steps back FC at it again

Clrnc I think if the case wasn't looking good there would be no chance we could even sell him. I wonder if the player himself wants to leave? Also I remember reading that mid July is when we will hear about his case.

Gazza M Not ideal to have such a major change in the middle but as long as we bring in quality replacements we will be alright. We have a good system and good players should be able to slot in.
