Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert Huh? I remember his first game was against Stoke and everyone was saying we are fucked with a lean Spanish defender. But he more than held his own and was strong aerially.

Clrnc maybe I misremember, but I do remember him having a shocker at WHL in one of his earliest games, and that he struggled with the pace generally at first.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert nah, my recollection is the same. Remember thinking it was odd we'd spent so much on a back-up to Gibbs but that he looked markedly inferior at first. But then he broke into the team and got a decent run of games and he started to look really good.

Yeah he wasn't great starting up. I recall having debates of the Monreal vs Gibbs variety in the early days. Once he settled in though, he was a proper boss signing.

He had a purple patch where he was immense physically. Oddly Sokratis had the same. Wenger had an odd way of making them reach a physical peak.

Trossard is nimble as you get. Love him

One of those players about whom you wonder why they aren't playing more regularly, and then once they do start getting a few more appearances the reason becomes quite clear.

Can't play with his back to goal, takes too many touches when holding up the ball and ends up losing possession or making a bad decision, and basically useless outside of the attacking final third.

Yeah he does look ineffective at times although given his limited minutes still one of our top scorers more then Jesus, and on 3 with no pens which both Saka and Odegaard have a couple of. Just another sign that the attack isn't really functioning as it should or at aren't getting the best of our attacking players strengths.

awooga83 being one of Arsenal's top scorers is meaningless. Compare to proper goal scorers and nobody deserves to be playing. Scott McTominay has as many goals as Eddie Nketiah. It's fucking pathetic.

Oh I didn't raise it as a great achievement just that given how poorly he does look too be performing in a lot of the matches it just shows what a mess we are in from an attacking perspective that he's contributed almost as much or more as the higher tier players in the team.

awooga83 for that reason alone he should probably start over Jesus. There are too many positions in this team with a clear hierarchy.

Didn’t take advantage of that period when he was on top of his game. Might not get back to that level as it’s probably down to margins on fitness and his age

He's awful right now. I reckon he should rotate up front with Jesus or not play at all.

Think he’s exited that period where he’s on top of his game. Should have played him whilst he was in hot form.

Same goes for Nelson. He was on the cusp of being excellent, but because we blocked their game time by sticking with head down give it away Martinelli, his development has been thwarted

Agree he's better being in and around the box and with Jesus form there is no reason we shouldn't rotate between them more often.

He scores with good consistency. 150 minutes per goal in the league and across all comps this season.

Although he's quite often a sub in a match we're already winning as per Brighton, there's a lot of value to us in his capacity to settle things altogether.

Whatever went wrong for him in the Brighton dressing room, he's been at Arsenal for over a year and we've not had a sniff of it. His ego is hard to miss on the pitch, but it's warranted and it's the engine of his football.
