He's my favourite player in this team, largely due to the unconventionality of his role. Although, it was hilarious when Arsenal fans said Pep was copying Arteta.
I think he does get caught out a lot as he's left footed and cuts inside, so naturally he's always showing too much of the ball to the presser and his passes inside are easy to read. However, when he shifts back to the outside, it opens up so many angles and opportunities.
I do wonder how the inversion would fare with a right footer cutting inside from the left like the wingers do. Although, you would then lose the ability to pass on the outside.
