If City plays like this in UCL final Inter has a chance.
Made United look better than they are today.
Clrnc felt like they didn't exactly go all out. Rodri was jogging and looking gassed.
Looks like we will be playing City in the Community Shield. Chance for an early trophy.
Coombs yeah they didn’t get out of 2nd gear. Didn’t think I would be watching a worse final than the Europa today
Smug Utd fans being put in their place.
Community shield here we come
Glad City won but if I was a City fan I would worry a bit ahead of Inter. Think the Italians have a better chance than many, including me, may have thought.
City will win it in their sleep.
That ball and dry Wembley pitch was a leveller yesterday
We've been drawn with Bolton at home in the third round of the EFL Cup. Good opportunity to give MLS and Nwaneri starts alongside some of the more established players in a competitive match. Should be a fun.
TambourineMan bet MLS doesn't start. Arteta sees him as a left back so expect Zinchenko to play if Timber and Cala are taking his league minutes.
TambourineMan great draw for once!
TambourineMan
At least I can finally get tickets to a game.
Qwiss I expect him on the bench as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if MLS is a future CM, and just being trained at LB. He’s still playing CM for the youth. It’s just a demanding position to put a child in our system, given the anxieties about even playing Rice there.
Claudius I've no issue with MLS playing as left back for a while, didn't do Saka any harm. The more first team football the better at that age. Just unfortunate his other non-CM position is one of our most stacked. The other issue is Arteta isn't the kind of coach to go full Wenger and start Nwaneri and MLS together in a competitive game at this stage of their careers. So its hard to see where MLS gets minutes apart from off the bench in those cup games.
banduan it's double seeded for the first time ever so teams in Europe also can't face each other
Qwiss I think we have far less degrees of freedom than Wenger. Adrian Clarke was saying this on the Handbrake Off podcast this week. He said the idea that a team like West Ham could have midfielders of the quality of Paqueta and Kudus is completely mind blowing to him, and means that you have less flexibility to field your scrubs or have an off day. He says in his day, a game against West Ham meant you were going up against decidedly inferior players. Now you could get embarrassed. So we do have to appreciate the changes that have come with the concentration of wealth in this league.
goon At least I can finally get tickets to a game.
Yeah, league cup games always used to be good fun to attend. Used to take my younger brother and his friends to those back in the Lupoli and Vela days.
Hopefully we can have some home Cup draws in October for when I'm back in London. Doubt I'll be able to get tickets for a league game this time around.
Claudius I think thats definitely true, the leagues money attracts top talent and its why its the top league now. That said fuck the League Cup, just blood youth in that. Anyone who does well in it should get an FA cup run too.
Qwiss if the whole squad is healthy, we should start Jesus, Jorginho, Zinchenko, Kiwior, Trossard, Nelson, Timber, Tomiyasu, Nwaneri in the league cup. And then we can toss in a few starters. Of course, Tomi will be sick.
Claudius agree with that but we need to get Nelson out. He sticks out in the list of back ups as having done nothing but also having little potential left. He's the sort of player we shouldn't have.
Qwiss he’s our Phil Neville.
