JazzG That is clearly down to Trump leaning on them which is unacceptable. This is a professional tournament and can't have influential people twisting arms to get favours like this.
Yeah, because thats NEVER been done before.. (influential people trying to get something favorable). That said, there is literally no actual evidence of Trump's involvement, though i wouldn't exactly be surprised. I would be surprised if the leader of ANY country that was about to host a World Cup wouldn't try to do the same thing for one of the worlds biggest stars to be able to play.
Though im sure the Portugal team would actually be better without him starting.
