Tam Yeah I was thinking about this the other day: I can't really recall how anyone played in a Euro final in the last 20 years, but I have clear memories of both Iceland and Russia (when Arshavin introduced himself). I remember Chile and Costa Rica fondly in the World Cups. I remember James Rodriguez with a giant grasshopper on his shoulder but I don't remember a thing about the Brazil team he dunked on so badly.
I think football stops being interesting once it runs out of narratives, and good stories aren't written about people who already have everything.
