The way the rest of you shrug your shoulders is astonishing. It’s the same way you shrug your shoulders when we haven’t won anything in 5 years?

How badly do you guys actually want to win? I’m still pissed off we bottled the Villa game last season.

Last night felt like Arsenal had lost a FA cup final for me.

You guys are naive if you don’t think last night has ramifications for next season. You will get it when the season starts and Spurs are on a wave.

Let me ask you a question. Next year if there is a Spurs Arsenal final, who will be under more pressure to win a trophy now?

We are the longest serving club in the big 6 to go trophyless.

This season is a disaster. Not only did we allow Liverpool to win the league, Spurs have won a trophy before us.

Simply put. We HAVE to win something next year. Our transfer window has to be a 9/10 as well.

This is an outcome that was formally impossible in the 24–25 format of the Europa League. Arsenal is currently too good at football to be involved in the competition.

I guess meeting Spurs in a European final is now technically possible in next season's Champions League (place your bets early! 😆 ).

Worrying about this is like Mike Tyson in his prime being gutted about not being the bantamweight world champion. Spurs are the bantamweight (banter-weight?) champions of Europe.

I'd dearly love us to win something, but I have zero control over whether we will or not. I recommend trying not to let this consume too much emotional energy.

I'd much prefer the season we had than the one Spurs had. I wouldn't call it a disaster either. The amount of money we won in the Champions League will be very useful.

The only difference is the rest of us wouldn't see being relegated to the Europa League, Championship or whatever as a win. We're a bit more demanding of our team than you. Plenty of local five-a-side teams have trophies in their cabinets, because they only have to go through other local five-a-side teams to get them.

Asterix credit where credit is due. We spent the whole season laughing at him and he wins something when we don’t. Same with Ten Hagg last year. Let’s be more humble now and win something first before we laugh at others. Hope it’s a lesson.

Europa is also much easier to win that when we were poor enough to qualify for it since Champs League teams no longer drop in to the latter stages

Also, we won the shield tournament thing 3 years ago. Not a real trophy, but still has a higher bar to entry than their trophy.

Claudius no because Chelsea are used to winning and that trophy won’t take them to CL and it’s worthless in relative terms to Chelsea. Europa league is NOT to Spurs. Use your brain.

Sicario2 it's nothing to do with living in London (plenty of us here live and grew up in London). It's all just narrative that you buy into and other people don't. You choose to believe any of this means anything and get wound up by Sky Sports and opposition fans.

When you say you can't believe everyone else doesn't think like you, maybe your perspective is the outlier for a reason. And it's not about having a 'winning mentality'. You can want to win something and not get wound up by narrative.

Look, being completely realistic, if Arsenal ever take on Spurs in any sort of competition final then that's a very high stakes derby and we have to win it. The pressure's as high as it gets regardless, just like United versus City in last year's final but probably even higher.

All that's nothing to do with us not winning the Europa League because we're too good to be in it.

Our head to head against them is pretty decent: WWWDWW in our last six encounters, and we haven't lost to them since 2022.

I watched the 3–2 at the casino with an old Spurs mate last year and he was practically crying into his beers, they hate and fear us at the moment. I can assure you this trophy win isn't going to have them looking forward to the next time we beat them.

Sicario2 the pressure is usually mostly on the favourites, which would be us. However there is a much higher likelihood we'll still be competing for other competitions when the FA Cup final rolls around so that could change things.
