@goon and @Don Pacifico, these arguments don't make footballing or financial sense to me.
On the footballing front, this mood of caring about "killing" our young players (with a loan, too?) is a pale descendant of the failed ideology of the "stadium era". Think of the 07-08 season and how injuries affected us then. Once Jesus is back on the pitch how long before someone tries to snap that medial ligament?
On the financial front, the goalposts have just shifted, but bottom line there's discussion of the outgoings without adequate attention given to the mean impact on income of a change in the probability of our success.
Would've thought you guys who were around when Arsenal failed to invest in the 07–08, 10–11, 15–16 winter windows and wasted plausible league challenges would be able to remember those years.
We have been here before and the correct answer has never been to leave money on the table.
We only have the squad we have now and are all happy to celebrate in this thread because KSE spent piles of cash while fans complained it was being misused.
