Don Pacifico a year ago I would've said you're on point, but we seem to have skipped a few rungs on the development ladder as a team and aren't far off having a legitimate title challenging squad. jesus' injury has now forced our hand even more. the contract we handed him was probably right at the time, but priorities and timelines are ever-changing in football. the brutal truth is a player of eddies level shouldn't be seeing much more than cup starts and 15-20 minute sub appearances in the league, if we are indeed serious about challenging for the title.

This is all fair but I don't personally think we should throw out a long-term strategy (with respect to squad building) in favour of a short-term boost that may or (more likely) may not win us the league. Additionally, whilst I understand the reservations regarding Eddie, the contract we've given him is befitting of a player in a title-winning team and I'm of the view that if we're giving players big contracts, we should play them before we decide to bin them.

Clrnc how would it look if you add back ESR and Mudryk (and Tomi to the defensive line)? That’s ignoring Jesus and Nelson as long term absentees.

Add in Felix too and you suddenly have 4 attacking players on the bench who will all want and deserve mins. The balance would be off.

I am looking from a title challenging perspective. We have to do everything we can to minimise the amount of excuses we could have to finish 2nd.

All a Félix loan deal would announce is that KSE wants the title and that's the priority, over and above whether a quality player ends up spending a lot of time on the bench. I mean, that is undesirable, but being vulnerable to a repeat Jesus injury or other absence might be unforgivable.

Hate to say it, but though I'm still a title sceptic, this season might be our best chance. There are no guarantees we get to this point again after 15 matches.

Impressive that for the first time anyone can remember, Arsenal's owners' enthusiasm for success persistently outstrips fan expectations.

Watch his game this week. He is like a man playing a giant boys. He cuts through defenses like a hot knife. When our players are flagging on 60 minutes, bringing this guy on for the next month, and then having him start a few after that will be incredible.

QuincyAbeyie we can certainly do better than Elneny/Sambi but in reality we're never going to sign anyone that could adequately replace Partey. He's too good and too important. You need your most important players to stay fit for the large majority of the season.

That is quite a hefty fee, I think their asking price will come down eventually unless Chelsea or Man Utd get desperate! Which is something you can’t rule out.

Think his addition would give our squad a massive boost going into a crucial few months. Having him on loan would also give the coaching staff time to really assess whether a permanent move is worthwhile. There have been questions about his mentality, his talent can’t be questioned though.

I'd assume such a high loan fee would be somewhat compensated for in an eventual buyout option, kind of like a hedge for them if the loan doesn't go well.

It's very high though. But would anyone without the ten Hag connection choose them over us at the moment? We're both a much better team, look like a better place for attackers to thrive and have our base in London compared to Manchester.
