Clrnc serious question for those who are better informed but what makes people confident that Boniface is the next big thing as opposed to the next Michu (ie. one-season wonder)?
There feels like there's a real trend (driven by the dearth of top talent) of big money moves of relatively unproven strikers. When I look at very superficial stats (ie. Goals/appearances), Boniface's numbers look fairly underwhelming. Then when you look at someone like Nunez (who was probably one of the more 'proven-ish' strikers going for big money recently), I can't help feel that the numbers they post in a single season don't often translate after a big move because they're in a less hospitable setting, no longer riding that wave of confidence.
I guess what I'm saying is that it feels strikers are being prematurely lauded and that in those instances, maybe having an insight to their personality should be used as a determinant of future success?
