To be fair (and I'm one of Gabi's biggest fans) I think with Rashford he's got a better ability to create space and strike the ball from round the edge of the area. That's what we'd be paying for. He might be a fraction quicker in peak condition as well, and have better composure one on one. Versus Martinelli, I think every other aspect would be a negative over time.
The fact remains that the left side is our area of weakness and where we need signings, and amazingly that's despite the quality of Martinelli, Trossard and Jesus together. I'd be happier with that key midfield signing than any other.
