We failed to score in 5 games this season which is very high for teams that want to win the title. We didn't score away at Porto or Bayern either. We do have moments in the season where the team dips and when that happens we aren't quite good enough to come out with the 1-0 with the equivalent of a Salah or haaland your scenario. So I do think we need to boost our attack and a little more depth.

Bruno Guimares with another 2 assist and a goal today. He will be huge for us next season

Clrnc yeah, it's been evident all season. Sure, we've scored a lot of goals but as people have pointed out, we've really struggled in certain games - we need an attacking monster like Sanchez who can score on his own.

I would however add that we definitely need another CM too. Partey is done (and is overrated generally 😶), Jorginho can't play every game and ESR still needs to prove himself further back.

We need more quality and poise and composure in the final third, it was glaringly obvious today with no Saka. We cannot be reliant on Martinelli and Jesus next season, at the end of the day they are hustle and chaos merchants who can create openings but struggle to complete the decisive final ball / shot on goal.

Not sure Saka changes that. Saka has played more or less every game and we've still struggled for goals in decent number of them.

Yep, too big reliance on set piece. We need to improve our open play chances created and scoring.

Clrnc set piece was great. We spend so much time in opposition half we were bound to get lots of set piece chances, so good on Mikel for maximising them. And for making sure we were solid on the other end car just need to keep pushing every aspect of the game.

always felt getting kudus from ajax would've been excellent as wing competition for marti and saka

that's the profile of winger I want though. someone with real drive that can dribble coast to coast and launch raids from deep defensive positions. whenever we've had to sit deep this season, we've looked really poor in attack, so having a cheesed out powerful winger that can transition from defense to attack with powerful dribbles is what we need

Gazza M A Kudus or a Gibbs-White profile is definitely something I am hoping we bring in this summer. Likely as a hybrid midfielder/winger. Funnily enough, I think there is still a world where ESR fits that profile. If Arteta is willing to actually give him minutes next year, I still believe in his talent after watching him yesterday. But only if Arteta is going to actually give him some chances - if he isn't, I'd rather move on and go for someone like Gibbs-White.

Agree. The lack of a dependable deputy for Odegaard is a big priority for me. Of course, maybe if Martin ever got injured we'd see ESR in that role and we'd realise we already have that deputy, but it doesn't look likely based on the minutes he's getting at the moment. Martin plays too much and we need to lighten his load.

If we get Sesko, then we'd have Havertz and Sesko at CF, Martinelli, Saka, Trossard and Jesus as wide options Arteta trusts, but only really Odegaard at 10. Gap.

Pepe LeFrits there is no possible direct replacement for Odegaard. You wont get anyone close to him to take a squad role. What we need is to elevate the midfield overall so we can cope better if we do miss Odegaard. If you can get a Bruno type then you can play Smith-Rowe in midfield when Ode is out and not lose as much.

The thing is barring an injury we've seen Odegaard can keep trucking. The wingers look jaded, get kicked more, need that real sharpness near goal more, have to always have their burst. They need rotation more often.

lorddulaarsenal I think this could be the year to give Nwaneri a proper bit of exposure, see where he's at.

Conditions are good to blood a youngster with no expectations now on the right, as despite our lack of cover for Saka and Øde, both play every single match, senior signings aren't going to want to compete with that.

Nwaneri looks quite physically advanced as well.

I still am not getting rid of my Fabio Vieira stock. There is a player in there. But I also agree that if we don't see something in the beginning of the year, it's time to move on.
