Meatwad yeah I'd avoid anyone who has Dein as their agent.

Darren Dein does not have a good relationship with the club and nor does his father as far as I know. Fabregas, RvP and Adebayor are some of his past clients at Arsenal, I think a lot of us were relieved when all the players he represented left the club!

Pepe LeFrits The Athletic just posted their Arsenal sensible transfers - it's Zubimendi, Merino or Ruiz, and Williams.

If only it was the "Athletic Bilbao"

I’m all in.

Osimhen.

Just get him.

I’d fancy our chances of scoring against any team anywhere with him up top flanked by our team of duel winning giants.

Kai as a box crashing LW would be an interesting variation on our usual setup with him and Calafiori in the team

    Yeah could work.

Intriguing to see how the team shapes up post the close of the window

Get a fucking midfielder and striker ffs. We can't go into the season like this.

I have to say, I consider myself one of the more relaxed members of this forum (of course I do), but even I'm looking at our start to the season - and Declan, David & Bukayo only just coming back to the group - and starting to feel a little antsy about it. But I'm sure there are things happening we don't know about yet.

      I'm not worried.

Declan and Saka are troopers, they'll be ready to play.

Would imagine we'll see Jorginho (fit/rested) at the base of the midfield to start the year. He's the type of player who keeps a relatively high floor and will build your team's foundation. From there we can introduce Merino and customize Rice's role so find our ceiling.

Odegaard will also be well rested, so we can help ease in Rice with limited minutes.

RocktheCasbah you saw how Martinelli jumped into the preseason game with barely a warm up. Saka and Rice will play 1-2 warm up games and go. These players don’t drink like our 90s boys. They stay fit all year.

Mirth they’re all back in training now. FIFA and UEFA want all the players dead

We really need that Saka back up in place and ready for the new season. Else it will all end in tears.

flobaba think we’re going to see Martinelli on the right more often this season

Mirth yup, looked like that to me towards the end of last season. Arteta tried him there a few times. I was hoping that meant we were after a top left sided player though.

            Claudius tears it is then.
Arteta has shown he will not play who he does not trust unless he has no choice. Unless we intend to break Saka we had better figure it out fast.

Our net spend is roughly £40m with Calafiori and Raya in and ESR out. Merino will likely take that to about £65m.

Last year's net spend was about £143m and the year before £140m. Not exactly sure what our budget is but not hard to see how we might be cutting it close with PSR.

What can we sell Kiwior, Nketiah, and Nelson for? It seems like we may need to get decent fees for all three if we're gonna be able to buy a serious attacking player.

CPM yeah, I feel like some people forget the significant outlays we were making in consecutive season without CL football. Those chickens were always going to come home to roost at some point.

Hoping this summer is when we change our perception as lazy negotiators.

If we are out of money then we've really only ourselves to blame. We've over paid on a lot of players, especially when it comes to wages. The fact is we are coming off the back of a CL season. If anything we should have more money.

This season our Champiions League cash kicks in. Our wages are line with our rivals. We were third highest after renewing all those contracts, and still about 15% off the top teams. Other than Partey, we are getting good wage efficiency.

              a month later

This guy is just scoring goals for fun. Will anyone take a punt on him?

Fair number of pens….but yeah, seems his form has gone up a level.

              Gyokeres shredded Lille

For the latter video, don't mind the first (awful) 15 seconds...it picks up.

Need a distraction during a boring conference call at work so been thinking of my ideal summer next year (understanding its due to change many times over the course of the year).

Outgoings: Partey (contract end), Jorginho (contract end), Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus, Nelson, Vieira, Kiwior

Incomings: Sesko, Kvaratskhelia, Kudus, Hato, Joan Garcia.

              Let's win the quadruple.

Clrnc he's class but still a bit raw. All action midfielder reminiscent of a young Ramsey maybe in how he pops up everywhere and can run for days, I'd even say he has the more consistent first touch.

Positioning and concentration aren't there just yet but he's just turned 20, had a dip in form and rode the bench late last season but a fixture this season again and looks in top form right now

Sicario2 - Tier 1 I think he would be as a backup for Saka but I doubt he would want to do that when he can play day in and out. I think he's probably one level below starter for a title contender but could definitely play at a Europa league level club like United or Spurs.
