Qwiss Personally I'm not sure if Klopp is to blame here, he's been around and knows how it works. They did the groundwork for Bellingham but it went belly up as they fell off massively and because they were up against Real Madrid. Sounds like with Mac Allister they had been talking for a while as well to get the player on their side. Klopp chose his words at the press conference very carefully when he specifically only mentioned having an agreement with Brighton.
It sounds like there is a real disconnect within the club with different people pulling in different directions and this bid was put in without everyone being involved. They were haggling over £5m with Lavia and then went for Caicedo, ridiculous really.
They did some real smart business and got real lucky that they absolutely fleeced Barca for Coutinho. Which makes their net spending look good. They've let their squad age and left it too late for replacements. Also they've spent a fuck load recently
