Gunner89 I'm not defending him. I've been consistent since we signed him that he's able to get past his man but is then useless with end product and that has proven to be the case. I just don't rate Minteh very highly either.

Matias Fernandez-Pardo is an interesting player, we were linked to him as and supposedly they want €70m for him.

A bit off topic but explains why Watkins has basically walked out and wants any way out of the club.

Would have been ideal for us at that time, would have given us another option and possibly prevented Havertz from burning out and getting injured. Arsenal fan as well so can understand why he was probably desperate for it.

JazzG yeah he'd have been a great signing at the time. That was a season and half ago. Mad how quick things change. Villa are a right mess now. Shows how important it is to maintain good communications and relations with players.

JazzG Still believe we would likely have two titles in the bag right now if we had been able to get Watkins in the door that January. I know the title gap to Liverpool ended up being a decent margin but if we had been able to keep the pressure on them through that Spring, I feel like we would've beaten them out. Glad we were able to rectify it last year but still have some regrets there along with throwing away that Villa game in the stretch run the previous year when we were flying.
