Also, the fact that they were selling Garnacho to Villa meant that Villa could inflate Roger's price as much as they wanted to try and scam us of extra dosh, as long as Chavski agreed to reciprocate pricing on Garnacho. In reality Morgan was 70mil and Garnacho went for a bag of chips.

Bernard Woolley The Liverpool owners invest in PIF don't they and they always manage to sell their deadwood to the Saudi clubs for fees no one else would pay. I don't think they're bothered about Newcastle but it did enable Newcastle to get the fee they wanted for a player on strike.

The issue is we don't be seem to be elevating our squad outside of Bruno G. So our performance will hinge on getting our best players fit.

As long as we can maintain our level no one's going to be close to us I reckon. I don't see any other 80+ point teams in Premier League right now. City will be in transition and so will Liverpool. The other mancs will be found out and Chelsea will be Chelsea. Get the key signings integrated before the league starts and we should be able to work up a distance during the fall.

When you are at the top and dining at the top table there is only a handful of players that get you from where we are to where we want to go. Bruno is a one of very few of them.

Also, it’s the principle now. We can’t keep losing out on our targets or we will be a laughing stock.

that's the thing, i never viewed rogers as the caliber of player that is out of reach for chelsea. he wasn't out of reach for tottenham either. if you pay a whole lot more than the player is worth you can get anyone.

and bruno isn't some unicorn either, he's a good 29 yr old (in november). that part needs to always be at the forefront when people are going on about our desperate need for him. he would be a good get, but within reason. there are other good players out there.
