living in London
working under a fellow countrymen
Spurs are still a big club, bigger than Newcastle
Would be a guarantee starter v squad option if he was to join City/Arsenal

We can laugh about it all day but it’s a high chance he will go to Spurs

I don’t think I’m being biased when I say it’s a poor career move unless he really, really likes living in London. The best Spurs can target over the next few years is mid table.

Yes, and also staying at Newcastle is preferable to joining a pit like Spurs. He’s playing with a number of top league players like Guimaraes, Thiaw, Livramento, Miley and Hall. Who’ve Spurs got? Gallagher, Simons and Solanke.

With a couple of decent additions and a better coach Newcastle could be dark horses for a CL place again.

That's why they've never signed the real big players - even though they've paid more in fees in recent years and that's also partially due to the market inflation

As for guarantee starter - Pep probably didn't wheel out an assurance to Guehi or Semenyo about being a sure shot starter, Is Gordon playing over Yamal or 30 goal Raphinha

Heck Ekitike was signed last year to be the option to Isak

Nicholas Jackson went from being Chelsea first choice to knowing he was gonna be second choice to Kane

100m Grealish wasn't given an assurance he was going to start for city

My guess would be that the mood at Newcastle is awful, not just because Howe doesn't have any backing but because Newcastle is PIF's twentieth priority, a thought bubble by which it's decided it's slightly embarrassed at this stage.
