Im with you on this. He's clearly a quality player, but i dont really like his attitude (more than his ego). The same could have been about Neymar. For me, they are just unlikable players.

Why do people post pictures of their meals/trips/life with their significant others publicly on social media? Just look at Pepe ffs? I can at least understand the random anonymous rage baiters, or ITKs etc.

We're just in an era where people like to share every detail of their lives for clicks, follows and engagement.

Honestly the best defence of social media being a place where your acquaintances relentlessly "post their Ws" is that the ones who always talk about their troubles are twice as irritating.

I feel you man. I really do. Maybe it's just my age showing or maybe I'm just a grumpy hater but I don't understand people who post about their real life online (publicly as in their pictures/their life stories etc) to try to get likes from people they will never know. I can kind of get it if it's because they want to market their skills to make money but just for the sake of getting some emotional boost? Nah, not for me.

My online footprint is mainly limited to anonymous browsing. My social media activity is non existant aside from basic consumption of news or random funny shit when I'm bored. Don't think I have a single post on any socials.

Over the years it's pretty much here and previously AM where I chat about personal shit and even that is because it's a) still kinda anonymous, and b) even if it weren't we've all somewhat known each other for over a decade, some if you over 2 decades for those who were on AM back in 03/04.

Coombs meh. I'm always too distracted to add anything to social media bar the odd photo at a gig but I don't hate seeing stuff my real life friends are up to, especially the ones I don't get to see often. Sometimes you have a little chat in the comments over a shared interest or whatever, its a good way to keep in touch.

As for Pepe and co, its a combination of age and pushing their personal brand.

This has been a great space for that over the years. I appreciate the sympathy and camaraderie that has developed here. It's been a "safe space" without ever designating itself that way or needing us all to agree on everything. Life's got its ups and downs for sure. It's good to have this forum with a bit of history and continuity to vent at those times when a relative is sick or a workplace sucks. Cheers to all for that.

Qwiss I don't hate seeing stuff my real life friends are up to, especially the ones I don't get to see often.

Don't get me wrong, that's not what I'm on about. I used to like facebook back in the day because it was private and limited to your friends and you could post things you'd chat about with your friends. Even then it was shit like music lyrics and shit we could talk about.

It's gone the complete opposite way now though with things being posted on platforms like twitter/instagram/tiktok that goes out to everyone and just farming likes/comments from randoms. Fair play to those who are making money off of it if it works for them. I just don't see the appeal personally.

Then again I've always been hesitant posting great news or shit online even in those days cuz I did not want to come across as trying to rub it in people's faces who don't necessarily have things going their way. Hell I'm like that even in real life when people ask how much I'm enjoying my work/much I'm making/life being good etc. Kind of just play it down like "life's alright" or quiting a figure less than half of what I'm actually on etc. Really don't want people feeling jealous of me.

It’s weird to share a public apology online though - particularly for something like poor performance in football.

Publicly apologising for a collective failure is making yourself the "conscience" of a lot of others ... and probably without their say-so, when these do it. Annoying behaviour.
