samthegooner that's the thing though £40m vs £50m is much of a muchness. And no way any club is trying to bid £50m with half of the fee coming in addons, that just doesn't make any sense in the slightest. Unless of course if the addons are pretty much guaranteed.
And whether we pay over 4 years or whatever, he'll still cost 50m in the end. Might help a little cash flow wise but we'd still be committing that 12.5m per year for another 3 summers in addition to this one.
