What he is saying makes sense, Bayern had been very bullish and cocky about this. The time when Bayern got the player they wanted is long gone, I think some at that club still living in that era.

Fitting Musiala and Wirtz into the same team would have been difficult as their best positions are as No.10, maybe that put him off and explains why Kompany couldn't give real clarity of how he is going to make it all work.

Talk of €150m fee for Bayern and €120-€130m for foreign club. Would love for us to sign him but we have much more pressing issues, saying that I do think Odegaard's form this season is very concerning.

this is why the scousers have been donkey punching us since we bottled the suarez deal. we keep getting ambition cucked by them. same thing when we clung onto wenger and klopp went there instead. if a player like wirtz moves to England and our name doesn't even come up, we're not doing things right.

The more I look at this Wirtz deal, the more I’m inclined to stay out of it. If the figures are true, it’s a massive amount of money, would be a transfer record for either Pool or Arsenal. However it doesn’t address our biggest area of need which is centre forward or left wing.
We also already know that Zubi appears to be coming, so it’s not like Rice will move to DM and we can put Wirtz as a twin 8.
Our biggest is what it’s always been. Focus on securing that and don’t get distracted

Claudius he would be perfect on LW, and assuage any concerns around odegaard by being an excellent deputy for him. it would be worth every penny to sign someone of this calibre

Claudius Liverpool getting Wirtz is annoying, much rather he was headed to Bayern but I don't think it'd be the correct signing for us. Would be like when we signed Ozil instead of Suarez/Higuain. Sure he was a top player and did well for us (for a short time) but he wasn't the right player for us and that move instead of a striker scuppered us for years.

JazzG Smart move by Wirtz. Sounds reminiscent of Wenger flying Aaron Ramsey to the Euros to convince him about his future at Arsenal while United had Gary Neville showing him around Old Trafford because Ferguson was on vacation.
