MistaT I could definitely see the benefit of having Frimpong in that you could have Salah focused more centrally and lower the amount of high intensity sprints he has to do from the wing as he gets older. I do think the two of them could work as an attacking pairing on that side but then the lack of defending on the right side becomes more glaring. They can probably get away with it against a lot of teams but others will target it relentlessly, especially as VVD ages as well. My worry if I were a LFC fan would be - if VVD is out for any period of time, the entire defensive balance is out of whack since he is a cheat code to allow them to do more adventurous things like this.
Regardless, I think the loss of TAA is huge as he was the best creator in the league IMO and irreplaceable in that aspect. I am very interested to see how it affects them long term because as you said, he was such a great asset to have with Salah and those early pinged passes perfectly into space to launch a counter.
