In any case that stat itself, misleading or otherwise, isn't anything that out of the ordinary as almost every title winning team has had numbers along those lines. 2005 Chelsea side had4 players to play more than 31 games, 2006 Chelsea 4 again, 2007 United had 4, 2008 United had 5, 2009 United had 3 players who played more than 31.
It goes back to the point that's been mentioned on here many times by @Claudius and others, it's about the squad, and those few players around the first XI that decide how well the team does. Having a huge squad isn't necessary but 15 or so players are important because invariably you will usually only have around 5 to 7 of your players starting over 30 games a season.
