Been incredible for us this season.
His performance at SB on Sunday was shades of Vieria in the same ground in 04.
Took 2 years but we’re finally seeing the best of Thomas.

We're fucked without him.

Partey's playing exceptionally well, must be one of the top five midfielders in the league on current form. We don't have a solid alternative for his position in the squad.

Nicely done BW
The mods might as well retitle this courageous new thread "Thomas Partey - Don't Mention The War" or "Thomas Partey - I'm Not Anxious Our Star Player Is a Rapist, Because That's Self-Sabotaging Loser Talk, But Let's Create a New Thread So I Don't Have to Feel Uncomfortable Once Every Couple of Months".
There is an element of bleak humour when this sort of "we've always been at war with Eastasia" shit pops up, but the situation's quite serious.
Already been said in the other thread, but the better Partey plays, and he's playing some great stuff in what is turning out to be the most exciting Arsenal season in years, the more tainted the situation becomes.
Anyway I will drop it, I understand I have been a battering ram on this topic for the past half day or so. Guess it's back on the radar anyway.
Burns, you’re defeating the purpose. There is a whole thread right next to this to discuss the rape issue. Let’s not contaminate the whole forum. It’s a serious issue. But people also want to enjoy their football while they await investigation outcomes
Until a day or two ago it hadn't been mentioned in the original Partey thread in weeks.
As for "the purpose", calling this thread "The Footballer" while saying "we have to turn a blind eye" ... already said I'd drop it above, but what a shame job for OMITT. Relieved the World Cup is approaching, because I'm starting to feel like Klaus on this one.
When the Qatar World Cup is the silver lining we know we’re morally fucked
I think it’s okay to compartmentalise. It does not mean we are not aware. We have a solid discussion in the other thread.
Personally, I live in a country where you have to think about rapists everyday. It dictates how you think. I don’t let my wife take ride hailing. She doesn’t go for jogs in the evening. She gets security escorts to the house if she has to drive home late. Women are just hyper conscious all the time.
To then come to OMIT and its rapists everywhere is not restful. Doesn’t mean we don’t acknowledge the issue. Sometimes you just want to talk football.

Considering how serious the accusation is I'd argue those who want to feel good about their football should try to do so while ignoring the matter for themselves instead of policing the rest of the forum to shut up about it so one group can enjoy it in peace.
Some people felt strongly enough about this situation to log off this website for good after more than a decade here, let's not try run more people off the block by adding this ridiculous two thread veneer. There's no difference between Partey the footballer and Partey the guy who's been accused of at the very least gross sexual misconduct they're the same guy.
Sorry but people who say let's turn a blind eye and enjoy the football are part of the problem. The club knows that's how the majority of the fan base feels and that's why they can get away with not giving a shit and why guys like Partey can get away with doing what they do. People who take this viewpoint are the same people who say "I'm not interesting in politics" and think that's a valid way not to give a shit about anything not affecting themselves.
This sweep it under the carpet, let's not think about it kind of shit is one of the reasons rapists get away with it, as victims see this general indifference towards the situation and wonder how or why they'd ever manage to get justice.
It's unfortunate this topic isn't conducive to a restful environment for you Claude but that's your issue to bear. I'm overweight, maybe I should start complaining every time Dula fat shames someone or an unhealthy option is posted for match food.
The discomfort felt about being unable to talk about the football(er) pales into insignificance against that felt about the issue we're discussing. And that's with the majority of us being guys, I would assume it's a far more difficult read for any women posters or followers we currently have. As posters I think we've all got a responsibility to make this a decent forum and be careful in how we present ourselves.
Nobody is saying sweep this under the rug. I am happy for us to have an open TP4 channel. We can even pin at the top of Arsenal forum if we want so that we can share case updates, and any meaningful protests.
I am not interested in coming here to listen to people moralizing. Honestly, I do not give a shit about that. If you are moralizing, please also back that with "I wrote a letter to Vinai about how distasteful I find all of this." But if you are going to come here and spout of at Jazz, Claudius and other fans for being part of the problem and you're not at the forefront of keeping rapists out of football, then please give it a rest.
This thread was created by someone who literally wrote in the other one that "We are winning and as of now we have to turn a blind eye", said that talking about it unnecessary noise and self-sabotage. That's the entire point of this new thread.
Regardless of who or why they made the thread, I tend towards the the football should be isolated from the despicable human school of thought. Because if not, if we don't, if we can't, then we would all be better off doing what Klaus did and suspend our followership of the club/forum. That is exactly what you need to do if you feel that strongly about it. You want me to feel uncomfortable? I don't need you to tell me Partey is a piece of shit. I know this from his messages. If you want something done that really has an effect on the issue, write a petition to the club. Stop purchasing our merchandise, or subscribing to our games. Do something that might make a real, concrete difference. But don't come ruin other people's forum experience to make yourself feel better about your own perceived superior moral standing.
This thread deserves the right to stand in its own right to discuss football. Attack the club - the fault and blame lies in their hands, not the fans, not the posters.
This is an unnecessary thread by any standard and should be locked.
We shouldn't take that discussion here, we should create a third thread to discuss how many threads are needed.

Everyone wants to be a social justice warrior nowadays, get ahead of the curve...What does worry me is this mentality also means if the police says he has no charge to answer for some they won't go back on their view either. Nobody is absolving Partey of anything but nowadays people want to take a side even when you don't know the full facts.
The thing is, it is common knowledge a lot of football players have very scummy and questionable behaviour. This hasn't happened recently either, where young people get exposed to fame, money and girls it brings the worse out in people. That said these footballers also attract a particular type of women as well, many of whom aren't exactly model citizens themselves. Despite knowing this many of us still choose to watch football. What our players do in their private lives does not concern me, unless it is illegal of course.
Didn't peg you as one to unironically throw SJW at people.
What's SJW?
