That Mendy decision is scandalous. Sometimes you see a decision where 2 or 3 out of 10 might agree with the ref. I doubt you’d find 1 in a 1000 in this case and yet the two professional officials managed to find consensus.

I absolutely could not believe they gave a foul there.

The Newcastle decision was shocking as well where Mitchell pushed Willock into the keeper but a foul was given against Newcastle. van Dijk not being sent off was a joke as well.

Michael Oliver did well in the NFO v Bournemouth game - was sent to the screen when it was a clear penalty. Most referees would have reversed the decision but he stuck to his original call - well done to him. These cunts in VAR need to stop making it about them. I feel like the love the attention these fucking VAR decisions get and are milking it.

And on VAR you could clear see there was little contact, Mendy was fine and he realised when Cornet got the ball he went down to act.

I think the Newcastle decision was worse though, mainly because there was only 2 conclusion there. Goal or Penalty to Newcastle. How the hell did the ref invented a decision to disallow the goal?

If we go in the game feeling sorry for ourselves before a ball has even been kicked then we will lose.

If we are 1-0 up, let’s push to get a second so IF a ref decision fucks us we will still have a lead.

You are right, Sicario. We're all preparing a little bit for what would be a bitter defeat because we've seen this shit before too many times. But Arteta and the players should be going there to win, with no excuses even entertained.

Haven't seen the incident but remember our last game Martinez got someone in a headlock, and then when he realised he could be un trouble decided to throw himelf to the ground as if he was fouled. Clown. Same to the ref who actually gave him the foul. Then when you have the block on Ramsdale, the WWE body slam on Saka, it's not hard to see these refs are either incompetent or flat out corrupt. Either way, it doesn't look good.

The slam on Saka was outrageous. Think Ramsdale was weak and naive on the goal though. If you want to call for a block you can't be crawling over the forward too, if he'd gone down as soon as the pressure was put on him the ref would have stopped the corner and had a word with the Villa players. Ramsdale chose to get into the physical battle and lost it. Thats on him, something he'll learn from I'm sure.

I agree on Ramsdale by the way. It's the sort of weak, soft shit I came to expect of Leno and should not be tolerated by Ramsdale. I expect much better from him, and I think he will learn a big lesson from this. Dominate your damn box!

Too often we've played United when we've looked in a good place and they've been down and we just haven't been able to deliver the level of performance we needed especially at their ground.

If by some chance United are really at it and at the top of their performance level and you come out 2nd best fair enough but otherwise you have to find a way to get a result.

I don't know if they are high necessarily, they've got momentum for sure but haven't necessarily looked great. But they have some confidence I just mean I think we should be able to perform because our team should be better in the round.

We haven't necessarily been tested too much defensively so if they are able to get at us that will be another examination of us. For me the reality is this is the first "paper" tough game where you might not think we would win so this is the one I want to see a performance in to demonstrate some real improvements.
