Claudius thats fair but there are only 2 elite players on this squad, Saliba is close as well. Martinelli is only an issue as much as many others in the squad. Thats to say he isn't a problem and while he's upgradeable you'd have to move mountains to get someone better. Same goes for all the first XI who aren't Saka, Odegaard and Saliba. Maybe Raya on current form.

Bud we’re effectively 5 points off the top of the table having had to deal with a raft of injuries, corrupt officiating, whilst not having got out of second gear having played City, Villa, Spurs and Newcastle away whilst also hosting an inform Liverpool within our first 10 matches.

We’re capable of going on a belting run, as we saw after Christmas last season. January gives us the opportunity to add some spark to the attack. I’d say it’s not as bad as it seems.

If I had to put money on it, I'd stick it on Liverpool. They led the race for most of last season and only fell away at the end, their midfield is now embedded and they've got their key men healthy and won't be losing Salah to AFCON. Trent, van Dijk, Salah and Allison could also be in their final seasons or have contract renewals to play for.

lorddulaarsenal but it requires nearly flawless run and those don't just happen it's a combination of circumstances playing well and getting some of the breaks. They aren't easily repeatable. Right now it's hard to look at the team and not think we will drop further points over the season.

I think Chelsea are certainly a team that can hurt us some good attacking threat maybe not amazing defensively but we don't look like we are posing teams much of a threat in that department. So even in the short term you could see more dropped points.

Last year they had a serious injury crisis at the back, there's no guarantee of that happening again.

Only if you think teams are incapable of improving internally and players can't step up to make an existing squad even better.

I hope they're only as good as last season but we don't look as good as we were, and they look better than us.

banduan They had a few injuries but they were worse with defensive injuries the season before when they fell out of the CL spots. They had VvD fit all last season. The fact they've had fitness issues at the back 2 years in a row suggests they'll probably have them again anyway. And van Dijk is 33, chances are he either gets an injury or slows up in the latter part of the season, same for Salah. He's back on form but people forget he went off the boil for a long spell last season, most likely due to fatigue.

Pretty much everything is going their way right now, plus the new manager bounce. Its all a bit Ange this time last year.

Problem is Liverpool are not bottlers like Spurs are and have winners throughout their team.

I still think they are catchable though. They play City in a few weeks so we can claw back points.

Trust me, a win v Chelsea and things won’t be as bad as they seem.
