Nwaneri has now played more Premier League minutes before his 18th birthday than Bukayo Saka did

Quite funny that, people's biggest gripe was Saka being overplayed and now Nwaneri is on track to playing more at a younger age, and that's a gripe too.

Sterling looks like a nothing signing, just a name on paper that stirred a few memories. He's had notably less impact than Nwaneri and Nwaneri's a 17 year old kid.

Burnwinter this is the sterling who Chelsea had last season everything he's doing was present then. He's very inconsistent, not a technically great player and the work ethic isn't up to the level you need.

Just look at the discussion around Merino in recent weeks. Also very pessimistic. Yesterday after he gets up from that injury, he puts in a fantastic performance. I just think it’s early to be making big declarations

He was okay but hardly a "fantastic" performance come on. He himself said he is struggling to adapt to the pace of the game so he will need more time to show his best. The discussions around Merino is not unfair, he is clearly not at his normal level.

For Sterling, I rate his sparse appearances much higher than the rest. He shown alot of good work. Not sure why we are bringing Jesus ahead of him

Clrnc because Sterling literally walked back on a counter in the last game. You need hardworking people against Pool. In an ideal world you have Saka who can give you both the hard work and the invention.

daredevil this is a moronic comment. People weren't complaining about Saka being over played when he was 17 and getting a few glimpses here and there. They were complaining about it when he was 21/22 and playing basically every minute for us.

Ah yes, because if we play Nwaneri more than he's played now that means we'll have to play him more than Saka is playing now when Nwaneri reaches that age.

You're missing the point. It means that if he continues getting more minutes and secures a starting berth as is expected of him, he'll be playing 40-50 game seasons and will end up amassing more minutes by 23 than most of his peers. - Which is exactly what people complained about regarding Saka.

That people are complaining about Saka not being rested/not being subbed off in games we've already won does absolutely not mean that Nwaneri should not be given more minutes at this time because if he is he might become so good that he won't be rested either.

All these comparison is completely meaningless. Players are good at different ages. Saka was never like Nwaneri talented at 16-18. He was even played at the start as a defender.

It's just a stupid way to justify not playing players on merit

Clrnc Nwaneri is coming into a much better side than Saka was though. The minutes will come, I don't think there's any need to stress that they won't.
