Not if Mikel doesn't fancy him, which he clearly doesn't.

From what I've seen of the game which is about 40 minutes of Game of the Day on Sky, I thought Sterling did some good stuff, he has more variety to his lines of attack than Martinelli and put in some good balls. He lacks Marti's sheer velocity though, so perhaps we're a bit blunter with him on the pitch.

I don't know what to say about Jesus, but he needs to fix up. Soon.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert he only returned to training a week ago! Give him a bit of time to get up to speed. We've already heard him talk this week about the level the team is trained at, it's got to be a big adjustment for him.

Yeah, I think Merino and Sterling will be fine, it clearly takes some time to adjust to our football. Both players depend a lot on intelligence/awareness and will need to have a strong sense for where everyone is on the pitch and where the spaces are.

We need Martinelli to keep improving. He's never going to be great, but if he can be a legitimate starter who scores key goals like today that is going to be an enormous help.

It's that Jesus slot, our second CF, that is the big hole in the squad right now. And I'm not sure it's the type of problem you can solve in January.

Big Willie Do you think he can one day be on the level of Saka, Havertz, Ødegaard? That would be super optimistic. But he doesn’t have to be there to help the team. If he can be like 85% of Luis Diaz or Diogo Jota that is an incredible boost to our chances this season.

We can still squeeze out so much from the players we have before we go into the transfer market looking for a smorgasbord of hasbeens and never-will-bes. All of Martinelli, Saka and Havertz are still on the up, so the first path for improvement is coaching/tactics and then those forwards own continued development

lorddulaarsenal sure, but he was a 50m pound player and is 27, scoring at roughly the same rate as Martinelli. I still think Gabby has the highest goal scoring potential of any player currently at Arsenal, whether or not he unlocks it (again) is another question. I think he will.

Nwaneri has now played more Premier League minutes before his 18th birthday than Bukayo Saka did

Quite funny that, people's biggest gripe was Saka being overplayed and now Nwaneri is on track to playing more at a younger age, and that's a gripe too.

Sterling has basically offered zero value as a signing. In Jan we need to go in hard for a winger.

At least Havertz you could see potential and was the right age bracket.

No comparison. Sterling's no Havertz and won't suddenly be starting matches—if he's starting, we're fucked.

Sterling looks like a nothing signing, just a name on paper that stirred a few memories. He's had notably less impact than Nwaneri and Nwaneri's a 17 year old kid.

Burnwinter this is the sterling who Chelsea had last season everything he's doing was present then. He's very inconsistent, not a technically great player and the work ethic isn't up to the level you need.
