I wonder if Walters is being considered part of the group, albeit very peripherally, in numbers terms. Given Timber is out for the season, for us to have 2 players per position (which is what I think Arteta demands), we need to include either him or Cedric.

Pepe LeFrits How many academy players have played under Arteta, other then the ones that were already in the squad? Almost none. He played the first team squad in the EL even when the group was won. He played the first team against that horrible league 2 team. Same when we went out in the FA Cup vs lower league team. Walters will play 20 minutes max, at the end of a League Cup game.

All our issues with right back in terms of depth/dealing with injuries. Just play Reiss Nelson there?

Is aggressive and dynamic enough to play there and would work wonders overlapping Saka on the right…

Just play Ben White. One of our most reliable performers last season. Why fix something that doesn't need fixing?

Good thing we have more versatile players like White & Tomi available because they'll give us cover for multiple positions. Even Kiwor can play LB if needed.

This makes me think Arteta sees Cedric as a squad option this season. Bad idea or some depth better then no depth?

Walters is on the B list, he doesn't need to be included. Sousa is only on the A list because he can't be on the B list.
