The fact that it's even debateable as to whether Trossard would be first cover at CF makes Nketiah's position in the squad look even more problematic. And I agree that Arteta would probably go Trossard first all things being equal. It means our options out wide also aren't as strong as they are on paper either (and I think they're lacking on paper).

Maybe, it's all speculation at this point.

I'm basing my thoughts on my estimation of Havertz and also on how I think Arteta wants to set up. Specifically with how I think he wants to switch gears and go for an even more attacking and devatsting XI. And not to blow my own trumpet, but I think I've understood Arteta's intentions pretty well all the way along, and I'm pretty sure Havertz will start (and do very well).

I also think Rice will undoubtedly be an 'untouchable' wherever he plays, and that Jorginho will definitely not be viewed by Arteta as a starter.

lorddulaarsenal we definitely need another attacker. Could be RW or could be striker to allow Jesus cover RW but we are short over those 2 spots.

Definitely feels like we need another addition to the attack.

It’s cover for Saka that we need. To get that we could buy a new winger, Diaby perhaps, or we could get another centre forward in, maybe a different profile to Jesus, with Jesus moving out to the right from time to time.

I recon we’ll go for a developmental talent as getting in an established star might lead to tricky man management

I reckon with Tierney we’re not being offered to sort of sums we’d like. It’s the right move, we need to rid ourselves of the stench of desperation and the likes of Tierney and Tomi are good enough that we can actually keep them.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we get a good offer by the end of the window.

The variety we have now in fullbacks and the 8 role is going to give massive flexibility in game to be more attacking/defending without having to faff around with the formation too much which is great. Looking fwd to see what Arteta what Arteta can do with it

I saw the title of the video "Arteta SHUTS DOWN Mbappé rumour," and I fully expected to see him laughing it off or saying we're not quite there yet.

whenever i see CAPS in a video title i assume that's the clickbaity part. doesn't surprise me that shutting down turned out to be, i won't comment on another club's player. which then sounds like "is he saying there is something to this?"

Clrnc don't even know how real can afford him. surely even they have to sell 1-2 top players to make it happen

We need a striker badly , almost every other top team have a goalscorer up top better than ours. Until we do better there we will be falling short.

GooneriC United, Chelsea, Liverpool don’t. It’s only City that have a clearly better striker who also happens to be a generational talent.

Anyway Saka and Martinelli will likely carry our goal threat similar to Liverpool a few seasons ago
