Don't understand why a CM was not part of the main transfers list. We really should have bought well there already and spent the rest of the window trying to shift the likes of Elneny.

Really raw. Having said that, I'd rather a project on the wings than in CM.

Slightly concerned we're going to fall short. No concrete links at the moment. Not much more can happen today and we play tomorrow so I'd expect things to be quiet again. Leaves deadline day for potentially two deals.

We could obviously still do business tomorrow but in my experience it's always quieter on matchday.

Let's see. The Elneny injury looks like it might have forced our hand in CM but might also mean that we've been distracted from our winger pursuit resulting in us ending up with no one.

What they're saying is not wrong but would be disappointing if we didn't add another player. Ideally two would make it a brilliant window but looking very unlikely now.

Doesn't really mean anything. Such statements at this point are also about positioning ourselves with respect to clubs we've made offers to and signalling we're not up for crazy bids etc.

Yep they're probably just letting Shakhtar know we will walk away if needed.

The team has done a ton of work this summer on both incomings and outgoings. 5 big arrivals. A number of departures. Most of their work done early as well. Another CM would be great, but it wouldn't the thing that makes me say this is a failed summer if they don't get one. Feels like an on top to me, as desperate as things feel right now.

I think paying 35 mil for Vieira and not a CM/DM that we actually need is a huge mistake. One that will, no doubt cost us top 4 again.

United fans told me that they are huge huge talents 😆

I'm mainly hoping we get a centre mid because it's been a divisive subject on this forum, and if we don't sign one, it will mostly likely be an ongoing bone of contention for the whole season. I viewed it as mismanagement to ignore the centre mid position 12 months ago. the fact we're 300m into this rebuild and xhaka and elneny are where they are in the pecking order is totally egregious, and could easily derail a top 4 push, but I know others don't have as pessimistic a view on this

so yeah, I want to avoid having to whine about this subject all season, so please God sign a midfielder
