Absolutely everything went through Odegaard in the 2nd half. So creative.

The game today kind of showed why we are looking for another wide player, Saka and Martinelli are still raw at times. Having said that I'm a little concerned how reluctant Arteta is to use ESR.

Also White and Saliva at CB for home games like these might not be the worst idea

Smith Rowe is another who doesn’t suit our style.

Can't agree with that. ESR will absolutely come good. He oozes talent.

I kind of agree with this, I mean the evidence on the pitch today bears you out. However, I would also say it's KT's first start in months and it's asking quite a lot to expect him to nail down quite a complicated change in role from day 1. I'm not saying I think KT is necessarily going to nail it, but he needs time. Whether he'll get it is another question.

Smith Rowe is another who doesn’t suit our style.

You keep saying this mate, but I think he showed last season that he absolutely does. He just needs to get his fitness back. I thought he should have been on the pitch for the last twenty five minutes this evening, but Martinelli finally got a corner right, so all's well...

Anyway, we won a game despite not scoring in the first half for the first time in half a season and this is our second comeback win under Arteta. The Emirates was bouncing tonight and rightly so.

Exciting times but with opportunity to improve further.

Smith Rowe does have his qualities but it’s no coincidence we play better without him. Think he provided a much needed boost which suited us at the time. We’ve evolved our game since then and Arteta has made his first offensive addition. Looking forward to what’s added next!

I know I'm not going to change your mind on this, so I'm not going to try but I think you're talking craziness.

Let me put it this way, there was nothing about Gabriel Martinelli's general performance today that Smith Rowe hasn't bettered in the past.

Here despite having players for us for years, it didn’t feel like Leno was an ex player today did it. Maybe it’s because he was here during the “meh” years

ESR has all the ability. I hope his fitness is much improved and he grabs his next chances.

This is my main positive take-away from the game.
Very happy for Gabriel to redeem himself much like Saliba did when scoring last week after his earlier OG.

I think the injuries in midfield prior to the game made things harder for us, and our performance was a throw back to much of last season. The changes to both shape and balance in midfield had a disruptive impact to our play, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see KT sold next summer to sign a FB better suited to the inverted role so we can still play the same way even with starting players out.
I think the game would have been over a lot earlier had we been able to start the same team as we'd seen in the opening games - not just becasue of the players but also our performance & capability with dual inverted FBs and 2 free #8s.

Such an incredible team. It’s about 14 years or so since I truly loved this many players on an Arsenal team. Odegaard, Jesus, Saka, White, Saliba and Zinchenko especially all give me so much joy as an Arsenal fan. Absolutely love all o these guys, especially Odegaard who is on his way to being the elite playmaker in the league and fulfilling the promise we heard 7 or 8 years ago

His manipulation of the ball is otherworldly. There was one moment in first half where he received the ball with one foot and laid it off with the other in one fluid movement. It’s artistic. Like Leonardo with the brush.

Yeah the way he joins 2 separate actions together, like the little stepover and shot for the goal, is so good to watch.

Eddie was very good when he came on too btw. I know it's probably not the compliment he wants to hear but he's a terrific super sub. Never fails to inject some pace and thrust into a game.

Agreed, I haven't been this emotionally invested in years.

That step over right before Øde took that shot for his goal was so good. The ability to manipulate the ball and make space for himself in tight spaces is such an important skill to have for someone playing higher up the pitch.

He's a technical level above every midfielder at the club right now.

Felt like an early 10’s Wenger game. Dominated them but just couldn’t convert any of our early half chances.

I don’t usually tire of being proven right, but i’d prefer if Gabriel waited until we are a couple of goals up before doing so. He’s been threatening to do that sort of thing for a little while so i’m stoked for him that he got a chance to redeem himself later on.

Ødegaard was great. He was unlucky that most of his good work ended up being squandered, so i’m glad he chipped in with the equaliser. Don’t really think anyone played particularly poorly, but aside from Martin, the best of the bunch were White and Ramsdale.

Credit to Leno as well for showing why we chose to go with Aaron over him.

Loving the match going fans at the moment too. This is undoubtedly the best connection the team has had with the fans for years and years. Credit to Arteta and the boys for getting our toxic and divided fan base on board. I bet the players are loving how behind them we are, well, most of us are.
