Gazza M It's a skill I'd like to see us develop. If there is a criticism of our attack over the last season, we don't really look for these counter situations (Martinelli perhaps being the exception). Probably because we look to compress the play so much that you don't have the forwards isolated high up the pitch most times (like Jesus playing at left back vs Newcastle for much of the game).

I think it's more a reflection on the quality of our midfield. There's a pretty huge gulf in technical ability between Valverde/Modric/Kroos and Odegaard/Xhaka/Partey. Only Odegaard has the sort of deftness that Modric displayed in the build-up to that goal.
