It's sad you feel that way, but to each their own.
The only thing I would say about the view that Arsenal have lost their values is that protecting a valuable footballer is nothing new and nothing that is exclusive to Arsenal.
Imagine for a moment what some of the drunken fools that played for us in decades gone by got up to? Arsenal legends some of them, yes, but god damn fools at least a couple of times a week no doubt. And who knows what a manager like bung-taking George Graham might have swept under the carpet or a decidedly dodgy character like David Dein? Not to cast aspersions, but there may even have been a scandal of one description or another that never saw the light of day when our beloved Invincibles were reigning supreme? Hopefully not as serious as the allegations being made in this instance, but maybe? Who the hell knows? As you say Klaus, the scrutiny was just not the same.
Anyway, I get you guys aren't excited about tomorrow night but lots of us are. It would be good if we could keep all mention of this issue in the player's thread. Let people engage with it if they want to, and leave it alone if they prefer - it has nothing whatsoever to do with the football. Let people enjoy Arsenal, even if you feel differently.
